Our location is in between "old downtown" Riverdale and the new Town Center-City Hall Complex. We’re in front of the City of Riverdale’s Church Park and walking trail, just two blocks south of the post office and the fire station. In fact, this church has been in the very "heart of Riverdale" for more than one hundred years.

First Baptist of Riverdale shows love for the people of Riverdale in many ways. As a founding church of "I Pray for Riverdale" Community Prayer Ministry, First Baptist leads the way in bringing the gift of prayer, door by door, to the people of Riverdale. An emergency food pantry helps our neighbors in need. The church also provides meeting space for Weight Watchers, Narcotics Anonymous, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and other community groups.♥With a Heart for the People of Riverdale♥
First Baptist of Riverdale looks like the community of Riverdale. Riverdale is a diverse community and so is First Baptist Church. Every Sunday blacks, whites, Africans, Islanders, Asians and others join together to worship God. We believe that all God’s people can come together to worship. Faith in God and trust in His Son, Jesus, as Savior, brings together people from many ethnic groups. At present, all worship services are in English.♥With a Heart for Children and Youth♥
The people of First Baptist Church have a special love for children and young people. We show our love for children by being actively involved in our local schools, by having weekly ministries for children and teens, and by having special summer ministries like Vacation Bible School and Day Camp. Our Pastor is a "Weekly Reader" and our Associate Pastor is a Mentor at Riverdale Elementary School. Plus, First Baptist of Riverdale is the home of Head Start in our community! This popular program for preschoolers has been housed at First Baptist for the past five years.
Above all, First Baptist of Riverdale has a Heart for God. The people who make up First Baptist Church share a common faith. They have accepted Christ as Savior and followed Him in believer’s baptism. They believe in the importance of prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and sharing the Good News that Jesus Christ came to save all people.
